CBC proudly joined International School of Phnom Penh (ISPP) in celebrating the inauguration of Falcons Hub, a new community and recreational center within the school's campus. The project marks a significant milestone as the first international school project in Phnom Penh to achieve LEED Platinum certification, the highest level of recognition under the world's leading green building certification system.

WHAT IS LEED PLATINUM?

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the world's most widely recognized green building certification system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to evaluate sustainable building design, construction and operation.

The LEED rating system consists of four certification levels: Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum, with LEED Platinum representing the highest level of achievement. Buildings awarded LEED Platinum must meet rigorous requirements in energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainable materials, indoor environmental quality and long-term operational performance.

For educational facilities, LEED Platinum certification goes beyond environmental performance. It helps create healthier, safer and more inspiring learning environments while reducing operating costs and enhancing the long-term value of the facility. As a result, many international schools and educational institutions now adopt LEED standards as part of their long-term sustainability strategy.

Delivering a LEED Platinum project also requires contractors to possess strong project management capabilities, strict quality control systems and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams while complying with international construction standards throughout the project lifecycle.
